promote language

Our language education support and language (special) education lessons are based on a holistic approach. We consistently support our students in the language and language-supporting areas.

We teach according to the binding guidelines and curricula of the primary schools in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the school's own work and support plans. The support plans are reviewed at regular intervals and always adapted to the child's developmental stages. Our goal is to return our students to the general primary school as quickly as possible.

Kind in der Logopädie

Our children have an individual need for special educational support in the areas of language acquisition, age-appropriate language use, speaking ability or communicative expression. These various developmental delays or disorders can significantly limit successful learning and, in particular, a successful start to school at a general education school.

In order to make up for these developmental delays, our school entry phase usually lasts three years. This gives us time to intensively support our students' developmental delays at the linguistic and language-supporting level, particularly in the first two years of school.

Our school is a “transition school”. This means that it is possible to return to a general primary school at any school year.

The children's need for special educational support is reviewed annually in accordance with Section 17 AO-SF. A joint consultation is then held about returning them to school.

But even for children who stay with us until the 4th grade, all options for further education in the secondary sector are available after the end of primary school.

Children who run

language support measures

In addition to the regular timetable, our children receive an additional intensive language support lesson in a small group with a maximum of three other children. These support lessons are led by a trained special education teacher. In the support lessons, the children's individual language and speech disorders are worked on in a playful way.

These are not classic speech therapy sessions. However, exercises from speech therapy treatments are carried out, such as practicing the correct pronunciation of sounds.
